JSW Steel today reported an increase of 2% in October crude steel production at 5.7 lakh tonne over the corresponding month last year.
The company had produced 5.59 lakh tonne crude steel in the year-ago period.
JSW Steel said its Vijaynagar plant could utilise only 67% of its installed capacity due to shortage of iron ore.
"Even though the company procured iron ore through e-auctions, the availability of ore at plant remains a bottleneck due to procedural delays and logistics constrains in movement of ore," it said in a statement.
The company had produced 17.38 lakh tonne crude steel in the second quarter of the current fiscal.
