Private air carrier Kingfisher Airlines plans to revise basic fares from October 1, an airline official said today.
"The special off-peak fares that we were offering will now revert back to their original levels," a Kingfisher Airlines spokesperson said here today.
This will be applicable to the basic fares and would be effective from October 1, the spokesperson said adding "the fare are being revised in view of the festival season."
He, however, declined to give the quantum of increase, saying that this should not be construed as a hike.
It is understood that the fares would go up by five per cent following the proposed revision.
"The hike will vary from sector to sector depending on the off-peak fares that were being offered. In any case it will not be more than five per cent," an official said on the condition of anonymity.
