Aditya Birla group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla and his mother Rajshree Birla will be the two Grasim nominees on the the Larsen & Toubro board, following its purchase of a 10 per cent stake in the engineering and cement major.
The names of the two Birla nominees will be conveyed to the L&T board on Friday morning when it will officially meet for the first time after Grasim announced that it had become a major shareholder in the company, sources told Business Standard.
It could not be ascertained at this stage whether the board would also pass a resolution at the meeting approving the appointment of Birla and his mother to the board. The induction of new directors would have to be eventually approved by L&T
