Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has evinced interest to put up a thermal power plant in Jharkhand, Deputy Chief Minister Raghuvar Das said here today.
"The vice-president of the company met me on Thursday and proposed setting up a 4000 MW power plant in Deogarh or Dumka. I have asked the secretary of the state Energy department to write to the Centre, Das, also the Energy Minister, told newsmen.
Asked what about the MoUs signed in the past with some private power sectors, Das said the state was more interested to work with a couple of big industries which could help the state meet its power requirement in the coming years.
Das asserted that the Shibu Soren government would make Jharkhand an 'Energy Hub' by 2014.
