The UK-based IT and business services company, Logica, today expanded its Indian operations by inaugurating a new 1.2 lakh sq ft Facility in Chennai.
The new centre, the second after its Bangalore Centre, will house 1,500 employees, Andy Green, Global Chief Executive, Logica, told reporters here.
"The Bangalore facility houses about 3,000 employees and provides system integration and outsourcing services including product development," he said.
The company had earmarked £8 million on investing to develop its offshore and nearshore centres, and planning to reach a headcount of 8,000 employees by 2009-end.
Recalling a company restructuring programme early this year at a cost of £110 million, Green said it had resulted in a cost saving of £80 million, the bulk of which would be spent on marketing initiatives.
