Marginal hike in LIC's stake in ONGC

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has increased its stake in Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) marginally but the overall stake now stands above 5 per cent. In a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange today, ONGC, said that LIC has increased its shareholding from 4.99 per cent to 5.00 per cent.

The aggregrate number of shares held by LIC as on January 19, 2010, are 10.71 crore of ONGC.

On the Bombay Stock Exchange, the stocks of ONGC were trading at Rs 1,124.15, up 0.83% at IST 1414 on Monday.
