Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) today said it rolled out 675 units of Swift model even as the standoff with its workers at the Manesar plant continued.

In a statement, the firm said a total of 675 Swift cars were produced from its two factories at Manesar and Gurgaon.

"The company also produced 50 units of A-star and SX4 models from Manesar plants today," it added.

MSI started making these two models at Manesar this week after suspending it when the standoff with workers began on August 29.

In the meantime, there are no signs of an end to the impasse with the management and workers not backing off from their respective stands and no talks were held to end the impasse.

On August 29, the management had made signing of a good conduct bond by the workers a prerequisite to enter factory premises following alleged sabotage and compromise on the quality of cars produced.

The bond required the workers to declare that they would "not resort to go slow, intermittent stoppage of work, stay- in-strike, work-to-rule, sabotage or otherwise indulge in any activity, which would hamper the normal production in the factory".

The workers had refused to sign the bond. Since then the company had brought it new workers and started production at the plant.

"Currently, there are 1,500 people available for production at Manesar plants. This includes 1,120 experienced and trained technicians brought in by the company in the last few days," MSI said.
