From banking to pharma, traditional customer relationship management systems are menu-driven and too cumbersome for regular business users to fill in. In order to give the users freedom from all that drudgery, Resonance, an applied artificial intelligence (AI) and smart data assistance provider, came up with its flagship product Rene, a mobile phone-based AI platform that captures and analyses unstructured sales and client data available within the company’s internal systems and externally on the worldwide web.

The user has to tell Rene what needs to be updated into the system and the platform figures out the exact information by tracing unstructured data from emails, calendars, contacts, CRM systems, etc.

Resonance, founded in 2017 by Shishir Kapoor and Rantej Singh, who were later joined by Som Dutta, has a research and development team in Gurugram. Last week, it raised an undisclosed amount in an angel funding from IP Ventures.  “The IP Ventures team carried out due diligence of our business and provided feedback from senior industry leaders, which helped us focus on our strengths and addressing the gaps,” said Kapoor and Singh.

Resonance’s forte is the proprietary AI tech for deep mining of internal and external sources of structured and unstructured data to identify intelligent threads of relationships.

“Rene’s algorithm captures natural or written conversations and translates it into structured logical data. It also has the capability to interface data with multiple sources and data platforms,” said IP Ventures' angel investor Manoj Sohoni.

The platform generates powerful insights using AI, which can help businesses drive enormous productivity, raise sales effectiveness, create highly personalised services, enable new services, markets or geographies, said Sohoni.

“Rene as a business assistant has huge market potential and path-breaking applications in industries such as banking, financial services, insurance, and retail,” he said.

Resonance has signed up with clients in the US and Southeast Asia, and plans to use the funds raised to hire more engineers and expand its sales footprint overseas.
