Nissan Motor India (NMIPL) today said it has registered total sales of 2,081 units in February with its newly-launched compact car Micra clocking 2,030 units.
In the same month previous year the company sold a total of 44 units only, NMIPL said in a statement.
The company had started nationwide sales of the Micra on July 15, 2010, and had sold 928 units in the starting month.
"Out of the remaining, Teana, the luxury sedan (CBU) clocked 14 units and X-trail -- the lifestyle SUV (CBU) -- registered sales of 36 units. Nissan also sold 1 unit of its iconic sports car, 370Z in February 2011," the statement said.
The Micra, whose bookings opened prior to its launch in July last year, has till date sold 10,255 units, the statement said.
