Defence solutions provider MKU today said it has bagged an order worth $35 million for armouring 186 high-speed boats procured for coastal security forces.
The order has been received from Goa Shipyard and Garden Reach Shipyard and Builders for the Home Ministry and is worth $35 million, the company said in a release here.
MKU said it would meet the specifications given by the shipyards, including weight of the armour to meet threat levels, thickness of the panel, durability in a marine environment and the time frame fixed for completing the project.
"These boats will be used for patrolling in sensitive areas. They would be suitably armour plated to ensure that performance of the boats is not compromised by the weight of armour plates," the company said.
