The aluminium major's net profit for the nine month period ended December 31 last year works out to be Rs 967 crore, 106 per cent higher than Rs 470 crore achieved in the same period of 2013-14. Nalco's net sales for this same period stood at Rs 5,483 crore, 12.63 per cent growth over Rs 4,868 crore in the same period of last fiscal. Nalco's alumina hydrate production declined slightly from 1.426 million tonne (mnt) to 1.424 mnt in the April-December period. Metal production in the period under review was 244,000 tonne, tad higher than 238,000 tonne.
