Nestor Pharma plans super speciality division

It will be named as Long-term Therapy Division (LTD) and is expected to cater to the needs of the doctors to treat diabetic, cardiac and neuro psychotropic patients. The company, however, has not yet decided on the product range to be launched in this segment.
This will be the third division of the company after the Nescare and ethical divisions. The company also intends to launch a special recruitment drive for meeting the manpower requirement of this division.
"We plan to launch a super speciality division towards the end of the current year or in the beginning of the next year but we have not decided on the product range ", Prashant Sehgal, vice-president (marketing), NPL said.
Sehgal, who was in the city to conduct the campus interview at Indira Gandhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, located in the capital city said, Nestor has started a recruitment drive across the country. It is planning to recruit about 500 persons during the current fiscal. While the selection of suitable candidates is over in Bhopal, the next campus recruitment will be held in Raipur, he said.
More than 250 students were interviewed and about 35-40 students are expected to be shortlisted. It includes the marketing, research and development (R&D), other segments.
The company is targeting a turnover of Rs 250 crore during the current fiscal including about Rs 5 crore in Orissa. It has chalked out plans to expand its distribution network in Orissa through appointment of stockists. It plans to appoint stockists in places like Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Berhampur, Balasore, Baripada, Dhenkanal, Angul, Rourkela and Jeypore.
Sehgal said, the company also plans to set up a formulation unit in Tanjania. It will cater to the requirement of the African market. "We have finalised the site and hope to commission the plant at Tanjania by 2010-11", he added.
New Delhi headquartered Nestor manufactures a wide range of essential medicines of about 150 formulations including the standard generic tablets, capsules, liquids, injections and ointments.
