State-run hydropower utility firm NHPC has decided to add over 100 people in the current financial year through campus recruitment.

"We would be recruiting over 100 people in the current fiscal at the beginning level via campus placement," NHPC Chairman and Managing S K Garg told PTI.

Public sector undertaking is battling with high attrition, which is prevalent across sectors.

"We are not the only company or the sector, which is fighting exodus but it is present everywhere, in all the sectors," he said.

NHPC has lost nearly 400 people to various private companies and is hiring a few on ad hoc basis.

"This happens when private players come, but we are recruiting people this year through campus selections and also some on ad hoc basis," he added.

NHPC previously known as National Hydroelectric Power Corporation is also setting up a college in Twang, Arunachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the company plans to impart industrial training to chartered accountancy students.

NHPC would enrol 10 final year CA students from their apex body - Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and train them at its corporate office in Faridabad.

The training would provide students with a complete hands-on practical experience on various aspects of chartered accountancy in a corporate scenario. The trainees would get a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 during their one-year training.
