Nita Kapoor, senior vice-president, Mudra Communications, New Delhi, has quit the agency. She will be joining Godfrey Philips India (GPI) as its marketing director on 15 February.

Kapoor has spent over 15 years in Mudra Communications and has worked on brands such as Nestle, Dabur Healthcare, Mitsubishi Lancer, HBO and PVR among others. Talking to Business Standard about her decision, Kapoor said, "After having worked on the communications side for 15 years, I basically wanted to round off my experience by working on the client side as well." In GPI, Kapoor will handle all its existing brands (Cavenders, Red & White and Four Square). Though refusing to divulge details, Kapoor said GPI is likely to launch new brands this year.

With the departure of Kapoor, Mudra Delhi has seen the exit of a number of high profile people in the last six months. The other people who have left the agency are Samit Sinha and the creative hotshot duo of Freddie Birdie and Naved Akhtar. Commenting on the resignations, Kapoor said: "The exits have been purely coincidental. The agency has an extremely strong base and name in the industry."

Kapoor hinted that with her exit a restructuring at Mudra's New Delhi office is likely. Kapoor was number two to Hemant Mishra, executive vice-president at Mudra, New Delhi.
