Ford has been present in India for two decades. But it is only now that the company has decided to bring this popular brand to the Indian market. This is also a time when other global super luxury sports car brands like Lamborghini and Porsche are getting active in the Indian market.
The first Mustang went on sale in 1954 and the company has since sold over nine million units. The Mustang will sport a 5,000 cc powerful engine and promises a top speed of 250 kilometres an hour. It offers selectable driving modes for customised driving experience. Ford has customised the left drive vehicle to a right hand drive for the Indian market.
"Mustang is more than just a car. It gives you the freedom to express and epitomizes the passion and fun-of-driving inherent in all Ford vehicles. The arrival of the Mustang will shine a bright light on the blue oval along with the rest of the Ford range and will help us demonstrate our potential," said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director (marketing, sales & service) at Ford India.
The new Ford Mustang features a range of smart technologies providing drivers with enhanced information, control, and connectivity. Ford's SYNC connectivity system allows drivers to control their in-car entertainment using voice commands, keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. Premium features like navigation, push button start, passive entry, power folding mirrors, and a rear camera are standard on the all-new Mustang to enhance the driving experience. Mustang will be available in six colour options -- absolute black, ingot silver, oxford white, triple yellow tricoat, magnetic and the signature race red.
