The state government would hold 30 per cent equity in the plant while 75 per cent of power generated would be used in Uttar Pradesh, Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh told reporters adding that a memorandum of understanding would be signed for the project soon.

The Cabinet also decided to provide high yield hybrid seeds to farmers at subsidies rates.

The government would provide a subsidy of Rs 200 per quintal on seeds provided by government outlets and Rs 120 per quintal on other outlets resulting in extra burden of Rs 65 crore on the exchequer.

The State Cabinet also exempted entertainment tax on the feature film made on the life of Sant Ravidas.
