State-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) today said the fire detected at its gas processing plant at Hazira in Gujarat has been put out and the affected area has been put on safe mode.
ONGC said that a vegetation fire was detected at 11:50 am today, which was put out within half-an-hour. Operations have not been affected at the plant, ONGC said in a statement.
"The plant was on an emergency high alert and the area concerned of the plant had been isolated and put on safe mode," ONGC said.
Eight fire tenders have been deployed at the location and the district authorities have been informed, it added.
"Senior officers from ONGC including Director (Offshore) are moving to the site to review the situation," the company said.
