Wipro chairman Azim Premji today refused to comment on Infosys Technologies post N R Narayana Murthy, saying he has no "privileged knowledge".

"Really, I cannot comment on. What I know of what is going on is what is available with the media. That's an honest truth. I have no privileged knowledge on it," the Wipro Chairman told reporters when they sought his views on whether Infosys is going to be the same after Murthy's retirement.

Premji said that "newspaper speculation" is that he (Murthy) is becoming Chairman emeritus.

"You (media) all pick up (information) from ex-employees and existing employees just as much as we will pick up from ex-employees and existing employees," Premji remarked. "Why don't we wait till 30th (of April); it's not very far off".

Infosys founder is stepping down as the company's chairman in August this year. The nomination committee of Infosys is set to announce Murthy's successor on April 30.

Being both headquartered in Bangalore, Infosys, the country's second largest software exporter, is often compared with Wipro, the third largest. Infosys is listed on the NASDAQ, while Wipro on New York Stock Exchange.
