Rajesh Jejurikar rejoins Mahindra & Mahindra

He had quit his post has CEO, automotive division, M&M, and joined Zee, this year

Rajesh Jejurikar, president of Zee Entertainment Enterprise has decided to move back to Mahindra & Mahindra after spending ten months with a media group.

Jejurikar who joined Zee in February this year has quit the company and will rejoin M&M as chief executive (tractor and farm mechanisation) with effect from April 1, 2013.

Jejurikar had stepped down from the role of chief executive officer (automotive division) M&M in November last year after a stint of 11 years with the Mumbai-based utility and tractor manufacturer.

"Mahindra & Mahindra today announced the appointment of Rajesh Jejurikar as Chief Executive- Tractor and Farm Mechanisation, with effect from April 1, 2013. Previously, Jejurikar was Chief Executive- Automotive Division at Mahindra & Mahindra, when he left the company in January 2012.  He will replace Bishwambhar Mishra, who has moved into a new role at the Mahindra Group, taking over as Director- Mahindra Institute of Quality with effect from April 1, 2013", a statement from M&M said.

Jejurikar will be a member of the Mahindra & Mahindra Group Executive Board and will be responsible for the tractor businesses of both the Mahindra and Swaraj brands. In addition, his responsibilities will include MGTL, Applitrac, Construction Equipment businesses and Asset Management (Capital Purchase) for AFS.
 
"This appointment comes at a time when the Indian tractor industry is going through a major transition with a strong focus on brand building and globalization, as well as intensifying competition in the domestic market. With his vast experience of over a decade and proven expertise, Jejurikar will help Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector thrive in this challenging new environment", added the company.

Jejurikar has worked in the packaged goods industry with Marico and advertising before he joined Mahindra in 2000.
