The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group promoted Reliance Communications, recorded a 3.25 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit at Rs 1,454.31 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009, as compared to Rs 1,503.26 crore in the same period a year ago.
However, total income for the quarter under review increased to Rs 6,123.67 crore from Rs 5,311.38 crore.
Further, for the financial year ended March 31, 2009, the telecom operator posted a net profit of Rs 5,907.55 crore, registering a 9.37 per cent rise, as compared to Rs 5,401.14 crore for the same quarter the year ago.
Besides, total income during the FY09 increased to Rs 22,941.07 crore from Rs 19,067.76 crore of the previous financial year.
Shares of RCom settled at Rs 214.95, up 3.6% on the Bombay Stock Exchange yesterday.
