Lucknow-based Sahara India’s subsidiary Sahara India Power Corporation Limited (SIPCL) today joined hands with Safesky Software of Israel for promoting advanced solar power and other technologies in India.

An MoU was signed between SIPCL CEO Ashok K Bhargava and Safesky chairman Amos Bouchnik along with Safesky president and founder Arik Klein.

Safesky Software will be setting up a demonstration solar power plant of 5 Mw at a Sahara location in India.

In addition to conventional power, Sahara Power is keen in exploring renewable power generation methods. “With this association, we intend to bring cutting edge technology in solar power generation,” Bhargava added.

Safesky has advanced technologies in solar power, medical, communication and water, which will be available to SIPCL for marketing and manufacturing in India.

“In India, particularly rural areas, with 500 million people, the power deficit is high and I am sure this product will help our country immensely,” Sahara India Managing Worker & Chairman Subrata Roy said.

“I am privileged with the opportunity to have this partnership together with Sahara based on the technology of Safesky. I am looking forward to build the first solar station for the benefit of the Indian population,” Klein said.
