Samsaara, the latest from the Genesis Colors Pvt Ltd stable of fashion boutiques, is planning to go places. Already present in Delhi, Chandigarh and Jaipur, Samsaara opened its first outlet in Pune on Saturday on the emerging high street, Senapati Bapat Marg.

Punit Nanda, managing director, Genesis Colors, told mediapersons that the multibrand store will showcase exclusive creations of Indian-Asian artists who will join hands with Indian fashion designers presenting their labels.

Samsaara will be a chain of multi-brand outlets with an emphasis on the widely divergent signature styles of established and upcoming designers.

"We believe in the creative abilities of Indian designers who will harness local ethnic art and embellishments to create labels that will look and feel completely Indian," Nanda said, adding that the company will encourage designers who will like to address the burgeoning Indian upper middle- class consumers rather than chasing an odd store in New York or Paris.

In tune with this strategy, Samsaara unveiled 'Serendipity' "" a label by writer Shobhaa De who recently stepped into the domain of fashion design.

Serendipity is De's debut collection, which includes drapes and outfits for women as well as shirts and kurtis for men.

Nanda said Samsaara will be "geared to revolutionise the concept of designer wear retail in India, through its ambience and layout. After Pune, we will open stores in Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad."

Samsaara in Pune is part of the re-introduced Satya Paul outlet "" the flagship of Genesis Color. This will be an exclusive outlet stocking only Satya Paul label, Nanda said.

The company also sells Satya Paul collection through multibrand retail outlets or malls. Nanda said the chain has 20 stores and plans to reach 30 in the next six months.

The expansion will be in cities like Ludhiana and Amritsar besides increase in the outlets in major markets such as Delhi where the company is planning three more Satya Paul outlets in addition to the six present now.

Genesis Colors expects the turnover of the collection to reach Rs 100 crore by the end of the present year.
