Vadodara-based Sayaji Hotels has entered into a contract with Ginger Hotels of the Taj Group for running the food business of its Vadodara hotel.

The new venture named, Buffet Junction, is a pilot project for the company as it plans to carry forward the concept of retail food business on a contract basis at malls and hotels across the country.

Speaking about the venture, Sajid R Dhanani, MD of Sayaji Hotels, said food outsourcing was slowly catching on with hotels and malls across the country, which have made it a high growth potential business.

"We will take the first hotel as a prototype then take the concept slowly to budget hotels across the country."

The Buffet Junction will serve a special spread of food depending on the hotel, said Dhanani. He said that the first hotel was a testing ground for the venture and the possible revenues from food and beverage (F&B) outsourcing would only be clear based on the response at Vadodara.
