SC vacates stay on DLF project

DLF relieved as it proceeds with construction of Pinjore-Kalka Urban Complex

With Supreme Court vacating the stay on Pinjore-Kalka Urban Complex, it has come as reprieve for real estate developers especially DLF which can now proceed with its construction of  227 acre township called "DLF Valley" in the Sector 3 of the Urban Complex.

In  statement issued by DLF two days  back it stated “We welcome the Honourable Supreme Court Order. This enables us to re-start construction in right earnest."

Rakesh Kerwell, Director(north) DLF India  Limited said with SC vacating stay construction they are gearing up the contractors for making up for the time lost(during the stay period).

The stay on construction activity in  Pinjore- Kalka Urban Complex Project was put on April 19,2012, following which work on upcoming  DLF integrated township, in the urban complex, got delayed.

Kerwell said they are looking how the time lost during stay could be improved.
 
“We are in process of micro-scheduling and macro scheduling for giving possession in phased manner.”

The Pinjore- Kalka Urban Complex Project’, ran into rough weather earlier when farmers of  Islam Nagar, Bhagwanpur and other affected villages ,allege their land was forcibly acquired by HUDA .

The acquisition of land was questioned by the petitioners on several grounds.

The farmers protesting forcible acquisition of land had thronged the doors of Punjab and Haryana High court, following which stay order  by the court  was granted, in April 2012.

Following stay order, DLF had moved the case to Supreme Court looking to get the stay vacated, the order for which finally came on December .

The integrated township project, ‘DLF Valley’ as per DLF is planned to be constructed in phased manner. As per the company more than 1800 independent floors of various sizes ranging from 1450 sq ft to 4100 sq ft were   offered in the first three phases of the township project

By the time the entire township is fully occupied, DLF expects expect more than 24,000 residents to inhabit DLF Valley,. The total investment envisaged in the project is Rs 2200 crores that would be developed in four phases, housing 5000 apartments.
