Kolkata-based designer boutique Siyaa, unperturbed by current recession, plans to introduce more of designer menswear and designer shirts this year in order to expand its product range.
The fashion boutique, set up in 2008, claimed it had not seen any drop in sales volume with average sales around Rs 10-15 lakh per month.
It had started operations last year with exclusive designer bridal wears, starting from the range Rs 48,000 and above.
This year it aimed to introduce more of designer menswear and designer shirts to expand the product range.
Sales were steady at around Rs 10-15 lakh per month from last year. In the marriage season of April-June, business and sales volumes were expected to grow, boosted this year by new collections by designers, claimed Rachit Agarwal, director, Siyaa.
It launched a collection by designer Krishna Mehta today.
Siyaa at present had only one store in India and almost half of its business was from sales to buyers from Delhi, Mumbai and Gujarat.
It did not plan to expand its retail network since all the things made in the boutique were exclusive in nature requiring more time and effort, and for a niche audience group, said Agarwal.
The designer boutique aimed to tie up with more designers in the near future to introduce more designer wear for men.
