Take Solutions Limited, a business technology company focusing on supply chain and life sciences sectors, has launched ‘take 10’, a cloud solution offering, in collaboration with Hewlett-Packard (HP) India Sales Private Limited.

This is one of the first partnerships by HP under HP CloudAgile, a platform were IT service providers partner HP to offer hosting, managed and cloud-based services to the clients, in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) mode, according to HP India officials.

The cloud services would help the small and medium businesses (SMBs) to easily adopt information technology, said Neelam Dhawan, managing director, HP India.

“Many of the SMBs are not using IT due to lack of IT skilled manpower. Even if they get skilled IT personnel, the expert may move on to another company since they have enough opportunity in the industry. The cloud solutions, including the infrastructure and expertise to serve the solutions, would offer them to implement IT solutions in their operations,” said Dhawan.

As a HP CouldAgile partner, Take Solutions has access to HP’s network of channel partners, sales and marketing support to help increase the uptake of ‘take10’ in the country.

The cloud solution launched on Sunday would offer cost-effective solutions to both SMBs and large enterprises in India and markets in West Asia, along with global expansion plans, said S Sridharan, managing director, Take Solutions.

“The benefit of ‘take10’ includes flexibility and portability combining social, mobile and business features on the cloud. We will be using our own data centre and partly the data centre of HP to offer the solutions,” said Sridharan, adding that the company, for which a majority of the business comes from overseas including the US, would see more business from India by offering solutions through ‘take10’.

HP CloudAgile service providers leverage HP’s converged cloud solutions, a hybrid form of public, private and managed cloud with traditional IT, to offer a wide range of services on customer requirements for security, reliability and flexibility.

The HP CloudAgile partners would deliver services based on HP converged infrastructure, including dedicated hosting, hybrid cloud hosting, managed hosting and application-specific hosting such as SAP and email. The partners also have compliant services targeted at vertical industries segments, including healthcare, government and media.

Meanwhile, HP India Sales has set up a data centre in Bangalore to house some of its services to its existing customers, said a senior executive from HP India.

The company has launched the data centre to migrate some sections of its services to some of its existing enterprise customers, including banks, in a common infrastructure, in May 10, this year, said Santanu Ghose, country head (business-critical servers technology solutions group), HP India Sales. “It is a small facility only for the existing customers,” he said.

According to the information available, a formal announcement on this is expected soon. The infrastructure and the manpower for the data centre is from HP, while the property is not owned by it, he added. Earlier reports suggest that the company was planning to launch a data centre, a cloud computing infrastructure to host and manage its cloud computing customers, in Bangalore.
