Tata Coffee, heavily impacted by the rupee appreciation, has reported 48.34 per cent lower net profit at Rs 2.03 crore for the first quarter ended June, compared with Rs 3.93 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.
 
Operating profit slipped by 1.39 per cent to Rs 8.47 crore (Rs 8.59 crore).
 
Sales grew marginally by 3.42 per cent to Rs 59.78 crore compared with Rs 57.80 crore in the previous comparable period. EPS for the period stood at Rs 1.09 (Rs 3.16).
 
Zensar net profit dips 9%
 
The rupee appreciation took its toll on the Pune-based Zensar Technologies, an IT-BPO services provider. Its consolidated net profit of Rs 13.35 crore for the quarter ending June 30, was down 9 per cent compared with Rs 14.68 crore in the previous comparable period.
