The cooperation agreement covers a wide range of defence and aerospace products including missiles, radars, electronic warfare systems and home-land security systems.
The framework agreement for cooperation was signed by Tata Sons' Chairman Ratan Tata and IAI's President and CEO Itzhak Nissan, said a release issued here today.
An agreement for establishing a joint venture company in the country would be signed between the parties shortly, the release stated.
"India is a leading market for IAI and partnerships with Indian industries are a part of our long-term strategy," Nissan said.
A TASL spokesperson said: "This agreement between Tata and IAI is a significant part of our strategy to build capabilities in defence and we look forward to having the JV company become a leading Indian defence company in the future."
TASL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Industries with focus on providing integrated solutions for defence and aerospace.
IAI is the largest aerospace and defence company in Israel and provides unique system-of-systems solutions for a broad spectrum of needs in space, air, land, sea and homeland defence.
