Torrent Power Q4 net up 183%

Torrent Power today reported a 183 per cent surge in its net profit at Rs 142.92 crore for the quarter ended March 2009,as against Rs 50.46 crore for the corresponding period last year.

The company's total income grew by 13.2 per cent to Rs 1073.6 crore duirng the quarter as compared to Rs 948.39 crore in the same period last year.

For the year ended March 2009, the company has posted a 92 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 406.17 crore as against Rs 211.24 crore for the same period ended March 2008.

During the year, the company's total income rose by about 20 per cent to Rs 4465.71 crore as compared to Rs 3722.09 crore for the year ended March 2008.
