Travel Triangle, a holiday marketplace, is planning to expand its services by raising $8 million from Bessemer Venture Partners and SAIF Partners.

The company is looking at expanding its presence with more offices in various parts of the country, including in Bengaluru and Mumbai. After fund-raising, the company has grown to serve over 15,000 travellers, it said.

The three-year-old company is focusing on supporting customers from more than 60 countries to plan and design holidays according to their interests, destinations of choice and budgets. It offers more than 40 destinations and plans to add more destinations, from which the traveller can have unlimited customised itineraries.

The traveller can design a travel plan using the options available in the company website, based on destinations or interests, such as adventure, nature, and pilgrimage, among others. The company would connect the travel experts and travellers and will provide three travel options for the holiday, it said.

Raghav Bahl of Bessemer Venture Partners said there is a huge pent-up demand for customised holidays.

"A product which provides 10 times the travel experience with value for money to the traveller is worth investing in. What is even better is the level of customisation and choice," Bahl said.

Mukul Singhal of SAIF Partners says, "Use of deep technology to understand traveler preferences and then connecting them with the right travel expert is a key differentiator in TravelTriangle's business model. The company has been able to leverage technology to provide a wow experience to the consumer and also, scale up at a rapid pace to be the market leader in its category."

Based out of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, the company is promoted by three IIT alumni - Sankalp Agarwal (IIT Kharagpur), Sanchit Garg (IIT Bombay) and Prabhat Gupta (IIT Guwahati).

Sankalp Agarwal, Co-Founder & CEO, TravelTriangle said that the company's focus has been to improve holiday planning, booking and experience on the trip and also look at connecting the local travel business experts to the benefits of e-commerce. The latest investment will help the company in its expansion drive.

"We would also be focusing a lot on providing travelers with better tools to plan their holiday and travel agents to fulfill the needs of travelers over and above our current set. We have been working in stealth mode to prepare all the necessary elements for the rapid growth," he added.
