Two wheeler sales of the company increased by around 23.5 per cent to 267,670 units during the month from 216,781 units recorded in August 2015. Domestic two wheeler sales grew by 30.1 per cent to 238,984 units in August 2016 from 183,653 units in the same month of last year.
Scooter sales grew by over 5 per cent to 76,572 units during the month, from 72,865 units sold last year, while the motorcycle sales grew by 31.2 % increasing to 114,195 units from 87,044 units in the month of August 2015.
The company's total exports declined by 20 per cent, to 34,097 units during the month as compared to 42,570 units in August 2015. Two wheeler exports declined 15.5 per cent to 28,686 units as against 33,128 units during same month of last year.
Three wheeler sales declined by 39 per cent to 6,633 units in August, this year, as against 10,872 units in the same month last year.
