Veta, Asia's largest spoken English training academy, is eyeing the Rs 200-crore spoken English training market in Uttar Pradesh.
 
Veta's courses cater to various levels of the English learners and at present has about six centres across the state and will be opening some more in the next two months.
 
V Gopalkrishnan, general manager (franchise), said, "Uttar Pradesh has great potential. With more job opportunities it is necessary for the students to be familiar with English the language to handle the competition elsewhere."
 
New openings will be located at Agra, Bareily, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Meerut and Varanasi.
 
With 100 centres spread across 70 cities, Veta inaugurated their third spoken English training centre in Lucknow today.
 
It plans to open 200 centres by the end of the year and 500 by 2011.
 
The training academy is also aiming to set up branches in countries like Malaysia, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Singapore and West Asia in the coming years.
 
"The company had already registered its trademark in the foreign countries, which will eventually be followed by the opening of centres there," said Gopalkrishnan.
