German gasket maker Victor Reinz will soon manufacture a variety of products for Indian as well as overseas market at Talegaon, near Pune.

Victor Reinz India, a 51:49 joint venture between Victor Reinz and Pune-based Jayant Group, is setting up a new manufacturing facility for gaskets, heat taps, cam covers, gasket materials and sealants to automotive giants such as Tata Motors, M&M, Renault, Audi and others.

Addressing a press conference, Victor Reinz India Managing Director Aakash Dave said, the newly-floated company would invest Rs 40 crore to set up the manufacturing unit in two phases. "Victor Reinz products are already popular in India and we are selling 8.50 lakh cylinder gaskets annually here. The new manufacturing facility would target the domestic gasket market," Dave stated.

Victor Reinz India, a group company of the DANA group, would also look at the upcoming facility at Talegaon, as export unit. "If our customers demand, we may export products manufactured at Talegaon facility to regions such as Europe, China and the US," said DANA Sealing Products President Ralf Goettel.

The new manufacturing facility would be operational from the first quarter of next year. When fully operational, it would deliver two million units annually.

"We have a turnover of ¤5.50 million in the Indian market. The same would cross the ¤10 million mark by 2011 as the new facility picks up pace," Dave added. Domestic and multi-national buyers such as Tata Motors, BMW, Mahindra and Mahindra, Audi, Force Motors and Fiat would be the primary clients of the newly formed company.
