Visa Steel effects rejig at top management level

In a rejig at the top management ranks of Visa Steel, Vishal Agarwal, the company’s managing director has been appointed as vice chairman cum managing director.

Agarwal holds a Bachelors degree in economics from the London School of Economics and a Masters degree in economics for development from Oxford University and has over 15 years of experience in the iron & steel industry.

Pankaj Gautam has been appointed as joint managing director & chief executive officer (CEO) of Visa Steel. He will be based in Kolkata. Gautam is a BE (electrical engineering) from Government College of Engineering & Technology-Raipur.

Gautam brings with him 38 years of rich experience in the iron & steel industry with Steel Authority of India Ltd's (SAIL’s) Bhilai steel plant and Salem steel plant. Prior to joining Visa Steel, Gautam was the CEO of Bhilai steel plant.

P R Bose has been appointed CEO (coke business). Bose stepped down from the board of Visa Steel as deputy managing director and has been nominated as managing director of Visa Coke Limited.

The board of directors of Visa Steel include V Saran, chairman, M S Verma (former chairman, State Bank of India), S D Kapoor (former chairman, MMTC), D P Bagchi (former chief secretary of Odisha), P K Khaitan (senior partner, Khaitan & Co) and Shanti Narain (former member-traffic, Railway Board).
