Vodafone launches 4G in Ahmedabad

It has already been launched in Kerala, Karnataka, West Bengal, Delhi & NCR, Mumbai, Haryana, UP East

Vodafone India, which has a customer base of 19.5 million users in Gujarat, on Thursday launched its 4G services in Ahmedabad after the telecom major had already rolled out the services in cities like Surat, Gandhidham, Bhuj, Rajkot, Morbi, Gandhinagar, Diu, Vapi and Daman recently.

The company is said to have invested Rs 541 crore so far this financial year in the Gujarat circle, and would continue to invest in the circle to augment infrastructure. Vodafone plans to roll out 4G services across more locations in Gujarat over the next few months.

Vodafone's 4G network would be built on 1800 MHz band and would be available across a range of devices including Mi-Fi & dongles.

Announcing the launch of Vodafone SuperNet 4G service in Ahmedabad & Vadodara, Naveen Chopra, chief operating officer, Vodafone India said that the 4G launch in Ahmedabad and Vadodara is a part of the second phase 4G roll out.

Jayesh Gadia, business head of Gujarat, informed that 216 towns in Gujarat would be covered by Vodafone SuperNet 4G by the end of this calendar year.

The 4G network has already been launched in Kerala, Karnataka, West Bengal, Delhi & NCR, Mumbai, Haryana, UP East and select cities in Gujarat.
