Wockhardt opens Rs 70cr hospital at Nashik

Wockhardt Hospital Ltd, part of Rs 3,000 crore Wockhardt Group of Companies, has opened 200 bed super speciality hospital at Nashik, at a total investment of Rs 70 crore.

The new hospital, Wockhardt Group’s first in north Maharashtra and 17th across the country, is located along Mumbai-Agra Highway near Wadala Naka here and is spread across four-acre plot with a built-up area of 1.20 lakh sq ft. The hospital will formally commence operation from October 2, 2008 and will cater to 40 lakh population of north Maharashtra.

Now, the company has total 17 super speciality hospitals with over 2,000 in-patient beds across the country - four hospitals in Bangalore, three in Mumbai, two each in Nagpur, Hyderabad and Kolkata, and one each in Rajkot, Surat, Bhavnagar and the latest in Nashik.

“For more than a decade and half, we have been providing super speciality health care and we are now glad to bring this experience to the community in North Maharashtra. It is a matter of pride and happiness that we are launching this 17th additon to our group of existing hospitals which would provide comprehensive quality tertiary care facilities to the community in north Maharasthra,” said Anil Kamath, managing director, Wockhardt Hospitals Ltd, at a press conference here.

“Wockhardt Hospitals, a chain of super speciality hospitals, is working on a model providing an advanced technology in tier II cities and its main objective is to provide high quality tertiary treatment to the patients,” said Dr. Vikram Singh Raghuvanshi, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Wockhardt Hospitals Ltd.

The 200 bed super speciality hospital of Nashik includes 44 beds with fully equipped patient centric ICCU/SICU, five fully equipped operation theatres of comparable international standards, and all other required facilities.

Wockhardt hospital, Nashik, will provide super speciality medical care in the areas of cardiology, cardiac surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, othopaedics, minimal access surgery and critical care besides other specialities like urology, nephrology, medical and surgical onocology, endocrinology, gynaecology, paediarics, emergency care and preventive healthcare.

This hospital will have an expert and experienced team of super specialtiy consultants, technicians, nursing staff and administrators.
