Zee Media Q1 Net rises over two fold to Rs 5.63 cr

Company reported net sales at Rs 77.3 crore in the quarter under review as against Rs 68.4 crore in the same quarter a year ago

Zee Media Corporation Ltd today reported over two-fold increase in net profit at Rs 5.63 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2013.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 2.6 crore in the same quarter last year.

Zee Media, which operates news channels like Zee news and Zee Business, reported net sales at Rs 77.3 crore in the quarter under review as against Rs 68.4 crore in the same quarter a year ago, an increase of 13.01%.

Overall expenses of the company during the quarter were at Rs 72.3 crore as against Rs 66.15 crore in the corresponding period last year, an increase of 9.29%.

Shares of Zee Media closed at Rs 11.11 apiece at the end of day's trade, down 3.31% from the previous day's close.
