Zendrive, a data analytics company, announced it has raised $13.5 million in Series A via Shervin Pishevar of Sherpa Capital, Nyca Partners, Thomvest Ventures and existing investors First Round Capital, BMW i Ventures, Fontinalis Partners and Tad Montross.

The capital infusion will help the company upgrade its technology.

Zendrive uses data analytics to make driving safer. It uses unique technology to tap into mobile sensors to measure driver safety through actions such as acceleration, braking, swerving, and phone use. It also uses AI to predict how a driver may react on the road.

"The transportation and logistics sectors in India are undergoing rapid growth and modernization. At the same time, road safety is becoming an increasing focus for regulators and communities ," said Pankaj Risbood, co-founder, Zendrive.

Zendrive's technology can be used by commercial fleets, taxi aggregators, insurance firms and city planning bodies, among others.
