According to data given Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions V Narayanasamy, 45 such cases were closed in 2012 while two were closed in January 2013. The data shows Delhi branch of the agency closed maximum number of 10 cases while Mumbai closely followed it with seven closure reports.
He said CBI has registered 1,997 cases under Prevention of Corruption Act during last three years -- 2010, 2011 and 2012 --and during the current year up to January 31, 2013.
The Minister also said four cases related to Commonwealth Games were also closed by the agency and closure reports are under adjudication of the court.
The CWG related cases closed by the agency include--Prasar Bharti contract given to SIS Live, Barapulla elevated flyover, setting up of a broadcast network by MTNL and one against a Superintendent Engineer of NDMC and others, he said.
