Burqa-clad VHP leader allegedly caught molesting women at Muharram Majlis

FIR has been lodged against Yadav, his accomplice for eve-teasing and creating disturbance at a religious assembly

Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Abhishek Yadav was beaten up late on Saturday night after he, wearing a burqa (veil), allegedly tried to molest women at a Muharram Majlis in Mauaima.

The husband of Zila Panchayat member Shipra Yadav, Abhishek was reportedly accompanied by another burqa-clad youth and his employee Atif Ansari, reports said.

According to reports, a Muharram Majlis was organised at Mani Umarpur village on Saturday night. A few women at the Majlis became suspicious of two burqa-clad 'women' and forced them to lift their veils.

When the duo refused to remove their veil, some women forced them and discovered they were Abhishek Yadav and another man. Locals present at the programme thrashed the VHP leader before handing him over to the police.

Police have lodged an FIR against Yadav and his accomplice for eve-teasing and creating disturbance at a religious assembly. Yadav, meanwhile, has also lodged a cross-FIR against seven persons for beating him.

Abhishek's family, however, claimed that he was returning home when he was attacked and looted by some people at Mani Umarpur village.
