Security forces today continued to comb a forest area near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir, a day after an encounter with suspected militants in which one Special Police Officer (SPO) was injured.
"Though the firing has ended, the search and cordon operation is still on," a senior police officer said.
Yesterday Special Operation Group of police had made contact with a group of one to two militants in the Mankote forest belt near the LoC in the district, following which the encounter broke out.
"No militant has been killed so far, but the operation is still on," the officer said, adding Army and other security forces have cordoned off the area.
