 "DMK supporters celebrate Karunanidhi's 90th birthday in Chennai")
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) supporters celebrated the 90th birthday of their leader M. Karunanidhi here today.
Thousands of party workers were queuing up to greet their leader since morning.
On the occasion, the DMK patriarch remembered his predecessors and placed wreaths at the memorials of the founder of the DMK party, late Arignar Annadurai and Periyar.
State Congress president B.S.Gnanadesikan and also leaders of various other parties greeted him on the occasion.
Karunanidhi is the only person to hold a unique record of being elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly for a dozen times since his first election from Kulithalai in 1957 to the latest 2011 polls from his native Tiruvarur.
He also holds the record for being chief minister on five occasions and the only MLA so far to have been a member of the legislative assembly for 50 years.
