Comments on the consultation process were invited till April 24, while counter-comments can be sent till May 8.
In response to the paper, Trai had received about a million comments, which it had uploaded on its site, along with the email IDs and names of the senders. The regulator was criticised for this, with many saying it would have led to a rise in spamming. The Trai website was down for many hours, following the comments being uploaded. It was claimed this was the work of an anonymous hacker.
