Former TNCC president Elangovan among Congress leaders booked
The case was filed under different sections of IPC like Section 143 and 506
Press Trust of India Chennai Police on Wednesday booked senior state Congress leaders, including former TNCC President E V K S Elangovan for alleged unlawful assembly and criminal intimidation.
The case was registered on a complaint from state President of Tamil Nadu Pradesh Youth Congress, J Vijay Elanchezhiyan, police said.
He had alleged that Elangovan had intimidated him and issued threat while having a discussion with his colleagues at TNCC headquarters, Satyamurthy Bhavan on Tuesday, a City Police release said.
The case was filed under different sections of IPC like Section 143 (Unlawful Assembly) and 506 (ii) (Criminal Intimidation) against Elangovan, TNCC spokesperson A Gopanna, party's North Chennai district secretary N Rangabashyam and four others, it said.
