Girls have outdone boys in the 12th state board examination conducted by the Chhattisgarh board of secondary education (CBSE), the results of which were declared here on Tuesday.
Girls have recorded a pass percentage of 76.32 per cent, while boys have a pass percentage of 70.72 per cent. Eleven girls had found place in the merit list. The overall pass percentage of the candidates making it to colleges had also increased as compared to last year. "In the 12th board exams this year, 73.35 per cent had passed while last year, it was 72.86 per cent," state's education minister Kedar Kashyap said while releasing the results. He congratulated the students for the success and extended his best wishes for higher education. The 12th board examination was conducted in 1819 centres created across the state. The results were out within a month of conducting the exams. "Chhattisgarh was the first state in the North and Central India to announce the 12th board exam results," Chairman of CBSE K D P Rao said.
In all 295540 candidates had submitted the application forms for appearing in the 12th board examination in the state. Out of it, 290777 appeared in the examination.
