As the tournament progresses, the Pepsi Indian Premier League viewership continues to grow over last year. Television rating (TVR) has seen a 25% jump in IPL 2015, over it’s predecessor in 2014. While last year’s edition saw an average rating of 3.1 TVR for the first 34 matches, this year’s rating stands at 3.8 TVR.

According to data provided by TAM, a significant amount of increase in the viewership has come from the fact that the average time spent per viewer per match has grown by 10% from 41:369 minutes to 45:54 minutes. The reach of the tournament also increased by 2% and the first 34 matches have reached 172 million unique viewers this year. All the data is for cable and satellite viewers above four years of age in the all India market (CS 4+, All India).

The matches are being aired on the Multi Screen Media (MSM) network in five language feeds. While the pre and post-match shows and coverage continues to be in Hinglish, the commentary is available in English (Sony Six and Sony Six HD), Hindi (Sony Max), Bangla (Sony Aath) and Tamil and Telugu (Sony Kix). Sony Max however, lost ratings points in week 18, from 743 GRP (gross rating point) to 617 GRP.

Zee Tv came in at number three (362 GRP) followed by by Life OK (328 GRP). The two Hindi GEC’s from MSM – Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Television (SET) brought in the tail end with 274 GRP and 219 GRP respectively.
