The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra declared the provisional allotment status of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) round 1 on Tuesday, June 29, 2016. The results are available on university’s official website www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in.

About 81,175 engineering aspirants have reportedly been allotted seats in colleges across the state in the first round of seat allocation. The results were delayed by a day owing to technical snags.

Conducted through the MH CET, the CAP examis held to shortlist suitable candidates for admission to the various engineering and technology courses at the UG level.More than 2.5 lakh students appeared for the exam this year for 1.38 lakh engineering seats.

Irrespective of whether they are satisfied with the seat allotted in the first round, students must visit the Admission Reporting Centre (ARC) before July 5, 2016. If they fail to do so, they will lose the opportunity of reallocation in the subsequent rounds.

The candidate can ‘freeze’ a seat if they get their choice of course and college, or ‘slide’ to a course which they
had marked as higher preference or ‘float’ to avail a seat at a college marked as a higher preference. The students can change their preference only at the fourth round of counselling.
