The accused has been identified as Rahul, they added.
According to police, the said accused was one of four persons detained earlier in the day over suspicion that they were involved in the incident. Of the remaining three, one was his associate while the other two were youths from the same slum cluster, said a senior police officer.

The victim's father told police that on the night of October 9, two persons allegedly approached the girl and lured her with a packet of noodles and a Rs 10 note. One of them was seen picking up the girl and then handing her over to the other, before they vanished, said a police officer.
Later, the girl was found behind bushes near railway tracks in the area, bleeding profusely. She was rushed to a hospital, where rape was confirmed.
