A city-based private university has decided to provide free education to 100 quake-hit students from Nepal, an official of the varsity said.

"Today, I have written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi informing him about our decision of providing free education to 100 students from quake-hit Nepal beginning from the new academic session in June," said Jayesh Patel, President of Parul Arogya Seva Mandal trust which runs Parul University.

Over 2,000 people have been killed in a devastating temblor yesterday in Nepal, the worst earthquake in over 80 years in the Himalayan nation.
