The two-day countrywide general strike called by 11 trade unions (TUs) all over the country took the form of labour protest in the national capital region. Workers broke windows and doors in factories, which refused to shut at South Delhi’s Okhla Industrial Area. In Noida, 150 companies have registered police reports against workers and TUs, and 136 people have been arrested so far, including nine union leaders.
